THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ
as performed by
The Leckhampton Players

The Three Witches of Oz

On Tuesday 1st February 2000 I went to Leckhampton Village Hall to see an amateur dramatic performance of THE WIZARD OF OZ. I really enjoyed the performance and especially liked DILYS the good witch of the North (whom happened to be JILL ROEBUCK a friend and work colleague of mine). I also thought that the performance of GAMP the wicked witch of the East was excellent. Another one of the performers, THE WIZARD, reminded me of LESLIE PHILLIPS.

Although it was primarily the story of The Wizard Of Oz there were a few surprises in that there were other tunes like I WANNA BE LIKE YOU (from The Jungle Book) and CHIM CHIM CHEREE although with new words (from Mary Poppins).

Another thing I really liked was the scenery and lighting.

However there was one minus point, in that at the end for the last song everybody had to stand up (my pet hate).
